A near miss in wartime and a brave deed provides the opportunity for Ginger and Bertie to clear the air and sets the stage for the unwavering friendships which are familiar to readers of the series.

Bertie reflects on the struggle which he's spent a lifetime concealing and wonders if he did right to speak his mind despite the possible consequences to his future.

Ginger tries to drown his sorrows in the time-honoured way, Biggles and Algy are watchful and Bertie takes a chance.

A short standalone (outside the general continuity of the rest of this series) in which 666 is posted to North Africa. Not set within the same 'fanfic universe' as the rest of this cycle but it can also be taken as an alternative epilogue to 'Rite of age'.

The tragic end of Ginger's romance makes it possible for Bertie to bury some animosity.

On the eve of Ginger's wedding, Biggles finds himself the bearer of tragic news. Set before "Biggles In The Argentine" by Biggles Mad.

Short lighthearted interlude in which Algy teaches Ginger to waltz. Set between "Gentleman's Outfitter" and "Island Fortress" (but seems better placed as an appendix to the latter)

Absence makes the heart grow fonder. Ginger and Jeanette grow in happiness against the backdrop of war and its realities. Ginger contemplates a proposal but defers it when 666 Squadron is posted to Malta, where he risks death more than once.

Ginger buys Jeanette a present as a token of committment before his short leave is up.

Carries on immediately from the end of 'Biggles Fails To Return' by W.E. Johns. Ginger visits his tailor and Jeanette meets someone important to him.

This story carries on directly from the end of Fails To Return and covers the time spent in Algeria before arriving back in London. Based on the scene where Bertie is so sharp with Ginger in No. 6 rue Marinière ('Biggles Fails to Return'). Only the linking bits are the author's invention; the rest is W.E. Johns.
