The story opens with a group of Fremen on their way to an adventure. They intend to recreate Dune somewhere else. Somewhere else turns out to be much farther than they intended. They run into a ruthless foe, indomitable allies and unexpected dynamics.

Sietch Tabr, ten days after the birth of the Atreides twins. Kept awake by their newborn babies, Paul and Chani reflect on past, present and future. A "What if..."/AU story set after the ending of 'Dune Messiah', if things had gone differently. Mostly sweet, with darker undertones. (Follows the canon of 'Messiah', except for the ending, obviously.)

Lady Carina Fenring is a woman trained in the teachings of Bene Gesserit. She and Feyd-Rautha Harkonnen entered into a contract long ago, with him promising to help her exact her revenge upon the Great Houses and the Bene Gesserit for orchestrating her kidnapping and upbringing in the harsh and brutal teachings of the organization.

The true events of Frank Herbert's Dune Messiah and Children of Dune are here revealed as free as possible from the historical misrepresentations of the documents which inspired those s. Unable to return to the safety of Sietch Tabr, they fight for their survival in the harsh desert of Arrakis, facing storms, sandworms, Harkonnens and other dangers on their journey.

The evening after the battle at Arrakeen, Paul Atreides feels the loss of his beloved Chani, and slips away to collect his thoughts, reflect on the terrible future that is yet to come and take the first step down the path that has been pre-determined for him.

This story has the recent Dune movies parts 1 and 2 in mind. Most of the writings that I'll do will be centered around Paul's and Chani's evolving relationship. There will be some deviations from the movie though. Its been awhile since I've done this, so I'm a bit rusty. The Dune movies got me charged back up to do some writing again.
