A short-but-sweet tale of Llyr and Penarddun. Set within the mythic foundations of CompanionWanderer's beautiful novel-length fic, Daughter of the Sea, and also featured in her Castle of Llyr adaptation, Rising Crescent, Rolling Tide. She sought a folktale linking Llyr to the phenomenon of bioluminescent algae, and I happily accepted that challenge. Extended-universe Prydain.

"Taran's heart was suddenly and strangely heavy." Self-knowledge too late is bittersweet. A literary adaptation of my comic Spring, Fallen, which details the Apple Tree Incident we get to hear about only peripherally. Because there just cannot be too many versions of this scene. :P

Taran arrives home from the Isle of Mona without Eilonwy. Angst ensues.

"He muttered something about leaving the diplomacy up to her, since she was so fond of /talking/, and she laughed, and set about assuring him that, as much as she loved words, she loved him much, much more."
