Weeks before her last daughter is due to be born, Laika is experiencing yet another bout of sickness. Between the loss of her previous children due to her family's curse, her mother's pressure and cruel indifference, the burden of pregnancy, and the worry of losing her next daughter like the others before her, Laika is tired. Very tired. Tired and cranky.

A Human man named Max has been through so much. So has Laika. A coyote gunslinger, and a childhood friend of Max. Both each went through so much throughout their years as kids to adults. Ever since the birds attacked, and brought war upon the world. Two families and a tribe will have a battle with not just the birds. But with their own Pasts that left a scar on them all.

Laika was fated to die with the egg... But fate had other plans after 2 more years. Rated T for violence, death, and profanity.
