Zeus the dog and Roxanne the dolphin develop an astounding friendship, and the marine biologists Marybeth and Claude are on the desperate hunt for grant money for their Institute. While they slowly realize they have more in common than their rivalry, Marybeth's teenage daughters try to set her up with the musician Terry. But soon, the dolphin colony is in great danger.
