While visiting Niagara Falls, Murdoch and Ogden witness a murder... or do they? Murdoch finds himself in the role of a witness, and he is forced to refrain from being a detective. Meanwhile, he and Ogden find it troubling to observe the methods being applied by the local constabulary attempting to solve the crime. As always, a solution to the mystery is included in the story.
